Secretary

Robert Gill

Robert has been involved with the Army Cadet Program, in one form or another, since 1987
when he joined 3018 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps in Orleans, Ontario. Since that time he
has been a Cadet Instructor Cadre Officer working with 3018 Orleans, 2644 Hull, 2920 Gatineau,
and 2804 Casselman, along with summers in Valcartier and Blackdown.
Robert transitioned to The Army Cadet League of Canada while raising a young family in the
early mid-2000s. Since that time, he has served as a volunteer, Corps Support Committee
Member, League Corps Liaison Officer, and League Zone Liaison Officer. He was elected to the
National Board in 2015.
Prior to his appointment as National Executive Director in 2016, Robert spent nearly 20 years in
business management, including 10 as a business owner. During this time he gained
considerable experience in dealing with complex issues, tight timelines, and stakeholder
relations in high-stress environments, all of which have assisted him greatly within the League.
Since becoming National Executive Director Robert has focused a great deal of time and effort
into supporting change, modernizing processes and policy, and telling the League’s story to its
partners, stakeholders, and anyone else that will listen.
Robert has been married for over 20 years, has three children, two of which were Army Cadets,
and one granddaughter. In his spare time, if he has spare time, he enjoys woodworking and
travelling.
