Army Cadet League of Canada Announces 2025 Recipients of the Colonel Commandant and National President’s Scholarship

August 11, 2025  |  By aclccomms

Ottawa, ON – August 11, 2025 – The Army Cadet League of Canada (The League) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Colonel Commandant and National President’s Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding Army Cadets who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, citizenship, and dedication to both their communities and the Cadet Program.

This year, five exemplary cadets from across the country have been selected for their academic excellence, commitment to the cadet program and aspirations for continued service and leadership in their post-secondary studies.

The 2025 scholarship recipients are:

  • Makenna Durkee-Ophof, 1910 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps – Calgary, Alberta
  • Savannah Pye, 2610 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps – Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia
  • Jaxon Volk, 3005 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps – Victoria, British Columbia
  • Dylan Nguyenho, 2672 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps – Peterborough, Ontario
  • Tristan Maxwell, 11 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps (Tecumseh) – Tecumseh, Ontario

Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship to support their post-secondary education. These scholarships reflect The League’s continued commitment to recognizing cadets who embody the values of the Cadet Program: leadership, physical fitness, and an interest in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Colonel Commandant and National President’s Scholarship was created to encourage cadets to pursue higher education while recognizing the valuable skills and experiences they have gained through the Army Cadet Program.
