The Cadet Program was the foundation that shaped my career, values, and leadership style. As a member of 2562 Queen Elizabeth Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, I was given more opportunities than I could have imagined, earning lifelong friendships, valuable soft skills, and experiences that pushed me far beyond my comfort zone.
I attended Jump School in 2014, spent a year as Newfoundland and Labrador’s Senior Environmental Army Cadet, and received the Young Citizens Foundation Scholarship. I also competed provincially in biathlon and placed 5th nationally in marksmanship as part of the NL composite team.
One of the highlights of my cadet career was serving as the Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) at CTC Argonaut in 2016, where I led hundreds of cadets and supported staff training across the camp. These leadership roles laid the groundwork for my service today. I’m now a Port Inspection Diver with the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve in St. John’s, NL, holding the rank of Master Sailor.
In my civilian life, I work as a Geomatics Officer with Public Services and Procurement Canada, conducting hydrographic surveys that support major construction and infrastructure projects across Newfoundland and Labrador. The Cadet Program gave me the tools and drive to succeed—and I carry those lessons with me every day.
